Spain’s Foreign Minister will meet with Cuba’s, looking to find a solution to Angel Carromero’s case that allows his return to Spain.

Spain, of course, is not hampered by ineffective and pandering legislation that prevents a meeting between the two countries, nor does it surrender its foreign policy to a vocal minority, intent on continuing feeding their political industry.

The Spanish have already set a precedent for this. Last January they secured the release of Sebastián Martínez Ferraté – who received a 7 year sentence for corruption of minors and bribery of officials – after he serving 17 months in prison. I have little doubt they’ll also get Carromero out.

The Spanish use diplomatic relations to get their guys released. We use their release as a precondition to diplomatic relations. Our is a backward-ass policy and I place the blame directly on the Cuban-American Congressional Caucus and their influence over the State Department. Even Gross’s wife has recognized that her husband is a pawn in their stupid game.
